The Smashing Pumpkins Frontman Billy Corgan To Launch New Podcast

Billy Corgan, co-founder, lead guitarist, singer, primary songwriter and only constant member of alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins, is set to launch his new podcast called ‘The Magnificent Others’ on February 5. Last year, it was reported that Corgan and Limp Bizkit's singer Fred Durst had each signed deals to launch podcasts on Bill Maher's Club Random Studios network. Now, the specifics of Corgan's podcast have been unveiled.

A press release stated the following: "Through in-depth, candid conversations, all captured on camera in a unique, engaging way, Billy and his guests peel back the layers of success in captivating in-person interviews, exploring the triumphs, challenges, and pivotal moments that shaped their journeys and defined their paths.”

Among the first names invited to the podcast, we have KISS legend Gene Simmons, Corey Feldman, Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), Carnie Wilson (Wilson Phillips), Tom Morello, Pat Benatar and Neil Geraldo or Sharon Osbourne.

When not working on ‘The Magnificent Others’, Billy Corgan has kept himself occupied with The Smashing Pumpkins. Recently, the band released their critically acclaimed thirteen-track collection, ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’ and embarked on an extensive US stadium tour with Green Day as part of ‘The Saviors Tour’, including nationwide arena dates. Last summer, they enjoyed a successful run across Europe, combining arena and headline festival dates, along with a multi-city fall tour across Latin America. These shows marked The Smashing Pumpkins' first performances in South and Latin America in nearly a decade. With more shows lined up, the band is currently scheduled for three performances in Europe later this year, in Italy and Germany.

The Smashing Pumpkins have been one of the most iconic, revolutionary, and influential bands in history, significantly shaping alternative music and culture. Formed in Chicago in 1988, the group has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and earned two Grammy Awards, two MTV VMAs and an American Music Award.

In addition to his achievements as a Grammy Award-winning musician, Billy Corgan is a multifaceted producer, songwriter and poet. He also serves as the president of the National Wrestling Alliance, owns Madame Zuzu's, a cherished tea shop in Highland, Illinois and is a dedicated philanthropist with various initiatives centered around animal advocacy and no-kill shelters.

Corgan recently grabbed headlines during his appearance on the ‘Howie Mandel Does Stuff’ podcast, where he speculated that he might be the half-brother of comedian Bill Burr. Later, he surprised Burr on Mandel's podcast and the two attempted to verify whether they were actually related.

The trailer for The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan is out now.
